Psalms 115

Ps 115:1-11

1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory,

because of your love and faithfulness.

2 Why do the nations say, ”Where is their God?”

3 Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.

4 But their idols are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.

5 They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see;

6 they have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but they cannot smell;

7 they have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but they cannot walk;

nor can they utter a sound with their throats.

8 Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.

9 O house of Israel, trust in the Lord — he is their help and shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord — he is their help and shield.

11 You who fear him, trust in the Lord —

NIV

Tonight our doing a worship with the word set using Psalms 115:1-11. And while the team is singing I am reading the section, praying about it, and considering it.
So I decided to make yet another post today concerning it. I am going to begin with an outline of it.

I. God is worthy of our praise, he is faithful, just and true. (V. 1)

II. Nations/people ask where is your God, who is your God that you trust in him. (V. 2)

III. We answer, “Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.” THIS IS WHO HE IS! I will not apologize! for I am unashamed of him! (V. 3)

IV. This is who the other nations/other peoples or whomever is asking the question of where is our god i. This is there god. Their god is nothing. Their god has no power. (V. 4-7)

V. People who trust in nothing will become nothing. They will become has hopeless as their Gods are. They will get what they worship, they will receive what they desire! Oh how scary is that? ( V. 8 )

VI. Trust in the Lord (V. 9-11)

        a. Remember Nations/Israel trust in the lord (V. 9)

        b. Remember Leaders in the Church trust in the Lord (V. 10)

        c. Remember all those who look to Jesus, Trust in the Lord (V. 11)

I will leave it at this…
